Grammar: something, anything, nothing, etc.

Somebody has taken Anna’s phone.

Let’s go somewhere this weekend!

I brought home something for dinner.

Is there anything to eat in the fridge?

Do we use somebody, anybody, or nobody to describe one personthat is unknown?

Somebody / Someone

Example: Somebody / someone has taken my phone.

What do we use for one place that is unknown?

Somewhere.

Example: Let’s go somewhere this weekend.

What do we use for ONE thing that is unknown?

Something.

Example: I bought something for dinner.

Do we use something, anything, or nothing to describe a thing of any kind?

Anything.

Example:Is there anything to eat in the pantry?

What do we use for one person and one place of any kind?

Anyone/anybody and anywhere

Example:I didn’t see anyone/anybody this weekend because I didn’t go anywhere.

Do we use anything, anyone, anywhere in positive sentences or negatives and questions?

Negatives and questions.

When do we use nothing / nobody / nowhere?

Positive sentences. For no single thing / person / place

Noone. Is this correct?

The word is separated. No one.

Do we use nothing / nobody / nowhere in negative sentences?

NO! Never use nothing / nobody / nowhere in negative sentences.

Example. There isn’t nowhere to park. Correct: There is nowhere to park.

There isn’t anywhere to park.

What do we use to describe a thing of any kind? Anything
